1. Disha cum Vikaas Centre

DISHA cum VIKAAS Centre is an early intervention and school readiness Centre for Children with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual Disability& Multiple Disabilities between the age of 0-25 years.

The Centre aims at early identification, intervention and school readiness. The services provided in the Centre are early identification and intervention, physiotherapy, speech therapy, Nutritional food, Activities of Daily Living, special education, counseling services, referral services, provision of positioning and assistive devices, inclusion in school and different scheme and programme by a team of trained, skilled and professionals. Free transport facility is provided to the children for attending the Centre regularly. 40 children are enrolled and availing services from the Centre.

2. SWABALAMBAN-DAY CARE THERAPY CENTER

Person with some different type of disability like Intellectual Disability, Cerebral Palsy, Autism and Multiple disabilities are neglected more due the lack of knowledge regarding these types of disability and specific rehabilitative measures and extent of the same needed for these people. Again the problem is worse for such people living in rural and backward area where the special service for them is not available. Hence to cater the need of these categories of Persons with Disabilities, RARE is implementing a Project entitled “Swabalamban-Day Care Therapy Centre” for the children with Autism, Intellectual Disability, Cerebral Palsy and Multiple Disabilities with the financial support from Ministry of Social Security and Empowerment for PWDs Govt. of Odisha, with all required aids, appliances and qualified experts in the concern field.

The objective of the centre is to provide therapeutic and rehabilitative services and enhance the interpersonal and vocational skill. 99 children with disabilities avail the services on daily basis. The Swabalamban Day Care Therapy Centre is running at Sonepur under Subarnapur District and the Utsaha Day Care Therapy Centre is running at Kantamal under Boudh District.

3. BHINNAKSHYAMA SEVA O SAHAYATA EXPRESS

Children with disabilities are subject to multiple deprivations and limited opportunities in several dimensions of their lives. Their families and caregivers also go through lot of stress and challenges in having a person with disability due to unavailability of therapeutic and rehabilitation services. People living in rural India are unaware about disability and their rehabilitation mainly children with cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation, Autism and multiple disability.

To cater the need of the children with MR, CP, MD and autism RARE initiate a mobile van services named BHINAKHAMA SEVA O SAHAYATA EXPRESS. The objective of the initiation is

  • To identify the CwDs at earliest
  • To create awareness
  • To create a system of Referral services
  • To promote inclusiveness
  • To facilitate door steep rehabilitation services
  • To create a network with village service provider

Bhinnakshama Seva O Sahayata Express started its journey to serve the children with disability on 10th March 2018. Every Saturday it’s reached a village and does the following activities. As the year of Pandemic Covid 19 RARE’s team has moved to different during Pandemic and counseled to protection from COVID 19 by following covid appropriate norms.

Achievement
  • 28 children with disabilities identified and counseled to access Therapy Centre Regularly
  • 10 Children with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Mobilized to Centre.
  • Home based physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation Therapy provided to 10 children with MR and CP and counselled them to attend the Day Care Centre regularly.
  • 28 parents are aware on services available in the locality and different govt. Provisions for Person with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
  • 85 Children with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities availed Home Based Care & Services during Pandemic Covid.

It has observed that the community-based therapy demonstration has impacted the other members regarding the effectiveness of the services in continuous process.
